Weekly Menu

I have received some criticism from some of my friends for my lack of food in my pantry and fridge. We dont have an abundance of food in our house... especially as it gets closer to the weekend. JC and I used to go to the grocery store and just buy tons of food and hope that when we got home we had the right ingredients to make dinner at night... this created may hectic nights in the kitchen and an insane amount of waste. The solution to this problem is our Weekly Menu...For awhile we have started creating our weekly menu before we go to the grocery store that way we know exactly what we need to make dinners for the week. Not only does this take away the pressure of figuring out what to make for dinner after a long day at work but it also helps us to not buy things that we dont need... because of this we are able to shop at Central Market since we are only purchasing what we need. I may not always have sour cream or brown sugar on hand... but I promise you that I am feeding my husband!! And just to prove it (especially to my friends who think I dont have enough food in my fridge) here is our weekly menu and grocery bill to prove that 6 meals a week under $100 from Central Market can be done!!!

Sunday - Shepperd's Steakhouse Pie (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/steakhouse-shepherds-pie-recipe/index.html)

Monday - Pasta Fagioli Soup and Baguette

Tuesday - Chicken & Pear Salad (http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf/recipes/mixed-greens-pear-salad-107763.aspx)

Wednesday - Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Thursday - Frozen Pizza with Cucumber and Tomato Salad

Friday - JOE T GARCIA'S ...not part of our grocery bill :)

Sunday - Shells with Tomato, Basil and Chicken

Central Market Grocery Total for all of the above meals, breakfasts and lunches... $87.46

Even more proof that we arent going hungry and the Fletcher Household...

Maybe you still think I am crazy... but it works for us! :)

I am going to try and do better about blogging in the coming weeks!! We have lots going on so I should have something to blog about!!!

Hope everyone has a great week!!!

Blessings

i'll admit, i envy your ability to plan and make such yummy and different meals! i laughed when i saw that you only bought ONE pear for your salad. i don't think i have ever bought just one piece of fruit at a time :)
